Hi All and Happy Easter!

I had a lot of funny doing some quick 5 min demo tags yesterday at the shop. It's no secret I LOVE tags! In 5 min, you're an instant artist. People always ask me what I do with them,  I USE them.  I make them into bookmark (buy a friend a book, add a homemade tag to personalize the gift); I use them as gift tags, attach them to cards and layouts.  When I demo a lot of the same ones, I end up selling them in the shop for $1.50. 

I finally got to play with the NEW Tim Holtz Distress PAINT and Dylusions Couture Collection ; and OMG they are AMAZING....paints and stamps! The stamps are not polymer, they're SILICONE! Which means they won't go brittle overtime, and the quality is AMAZING while at a VERY affordable price! The Distress Paints have the same great colours as his inks, but unlike the inks, they are PERMEANT once they're dry!  They are so easy to work with, I love how he does that...he makes his products SO user friendly! I was over joyed at how the tags turned out! So BRIGHT and VIBRANT! And the Gellyroll Pens write on top of the paints like a dream to just finish the tags off perfectly!

The bottom tag was made with Panpastels; another medium I'm loving lately! Again, easy to use, and vibrant. You can vary the intensity by how much pastel you put on your applicator. They work amazing through a stencil as well...for those of you who do not like to get inky, Panpastels are perfect for you! I finished the tag off by using a pipette to suck up some gorgeous Heidi Swap Spray to make some fabulous drippage  down the tag.  And of course I used my Gellyroll to highlight everything..that goes without saying!

Socks or not, today is World Down Syndrome Day and this date was chose to represent the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. March 21, 2013 marks the 8th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. 

Please help in the cause and raise your voice to ensure that the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with down syndrome are met today and in the future.

I want the shop to offer a variety of classes for ALL skill levels that are chocked full of techniques to keep your crafting evolving!   Starting this week I will be implementing the shops NEW LOYALTY CLASS PUNCH CARD:  For every Class $25+ you sign up for, you will receive a punch onto your card; once you hit 5, you will be entitled to jump in on a Friday Night Dinner Crop for FREE!!! In this fabulous painty, inky class you will be learning how to pick a great color scheme and how to properly place images to allow your project to flow correctly and be pleasing to the eye. You will be with playing Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints, Dylusions Spray, Panpastels, Faber Castell Big Stamper Pens, Alcohol inks...AND LOTS LOTS more! 

Supply List: Dylusions Art Journal; Paint brushes, White Gelly Pen or Sharpie, Craft Scraper or old Credit Card, Charcoal Pencil. (All supplies available in the shop if you need to purchase before class)

New Year, New Style!

Hi All!
Well I know there has been lots of rumours floating around that I am closing, but they are FALSE! I'm not going any where.  I've had a very hard couple of months healing after my Dad's passing, and although I don't think I'll ever heal completely, I am in a much better place now.
I wanted to reflect how I was feeling in my shop, as it is such a huge personal extension of myself....so what better way to do that then renovating!  Please come down and check out the new space, my husband, kids, and myself have worked VERY VERY hard to make the store even better! It's brighter in here, more crop and class space, and even more wall space for products! I've added loads of new lines too!
My goal for this year is to have a wider variety of classes up for you as well.  Not only will you learn amazing new techniques to keep your crafting up to date with a fresh new look, you will also be supporting local ladies and my local small business.
With all the big box chains opening up, I personally find it very important to shop local and at small independent business.  Why not make a date with your friends and do a Local Small Business Support day.....St Albert has some amazing small business and restaurants where you will not only receive amazing customer service, you will also be purchasing items that are not shipped in by the 1000's...more like the 5-10's....you get to be more of an individual!!!!
