Cool Kids Card

Hi Everyone

I found this awesome challenge blog yesterday run by the wickedly talented Anam. If you regularly check my blog, you'll notice I love Anam's style and use her LO for inspiration often, while I was on her blog I notice a link to Twistedsketch, so I went and check it out; fun site! I love challenge blogs, totally pushes you to scrap out side your comfy box. This Blog puts out a LO with a twist each week; this weeks twist is to add stripes.
So anyways...she has a Design Team call for Twistedcards, so I thought I'd make a card for it. There is a LO & the twist is transparent. On my card I added some clear Taylor Tots around my Superstar.
Recipe
All paper and embellishments are from the Cool Kids Simply Scrappin' Kit (except tot's)

Stamps:Extreme Guitar ( U can get this free with SAB!), Extreme Element (my fav!!)

Ink: Basic Grey, Crushed Curry (to distress)

The scrappin' kit makes it totally easy to design things as everything is in it and matches! The size of my card is 5 1/2" square
Thanks for stopping by, check back tomorrow, I've done a cool LO to the Twistedsketch site as well.

My Knight in shining armour

Hi Everyone

Well after I did the My Digital Studio Page Saturday morning, I decided to clean all the scrappin' supplies that are all over my house and put them all in my office. That is when I came across this piece of paper I bought years ago, and laughed as I knew the perfect pics to go on them! So I've now got 2 cute pages of .Tristan from Halloween, and he was very happy I did 2 of him and none of Ethan! BOYS! Not much SU! supplies, the Black Satin Ribbon, and Ice Rhinestone Squars, plus the White Singlo pen. I rouched the ribbon by sewing a simple stitch through the middle and hand pulling it to how I wanted it. The fleur de lei is from the fabric store, it's an iron on bling, I knew it would come in handy!

My Digital Studio: Imports

Hi Everyone

As you can see I`ve been playing around with my Blogs, and changed the templates. Make sure you get check out my Inkedstamper`s News Blog as well, I love the template! I found this great FREE site called the Background Fairy, you can click on her link on the top left corner of my blogs. She has tons of vintage digital designs you can download for free! So not only did I download new blog templates, I also downloaded a bunch of images and papers into My Digital Studio (MDS). First off I modified both of my Blog Headers in MDS, than I decided to do a scrapbook page in there as well. And this is what I came up with. All image downloads are from the Background Fairy, then I just added my fav stamps to it from Extreme Elements. I really love MDS and this just added to my love, it was so easy to open the files in here, and with the awesome feature of color adjusting, I was able to match the colors exactly to the new downloads! I also really like the opacity feature, I change the picture of Tristan by himself to a low opacity so he is kind of see through ghost like, how cool is that! Sure can`t do that in traditional scrappin`!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fab weekend

Love Bug & Cards for the Cure

Hi Everyone

I've posted this on my newsletter blog, but not really here. This August I will be participating in the 35km walk for the Weekend to End Women's Cancer. And right now I'm busy working on making all the cards to put in my Card for Cure Bundles. In these bundles there will be 6 cards with envelopes that you can purchase for $35 and $25 will be donated to Weekend to End Women's Cancers. You will also receive a $25 tax deductible receipt. I will be fundraising from now until August to raise money for Cancer Research. I will be blogging more later about this, once I have some samples ready. BUT please go over to my Inkedstampers Newsletter Blog HERE to see some of the Fundraising options I have there including Crop for the Cure kits; ( Feb's scrap kit shown above) and classes. You can also click HERE to donate directly on my website, your tax receipt will be emailed to you for all donations over $10. If you would like to donate via purchasing a kit, please contact me directly.

Here is a LO I did the other night with the Scrapalicious Girls; a kick butt group of scrapbooking women! We meet at Natalie's house and had to swap Kits; everyone put together a kit to make 1 LO, we drew names and swapped our kits. This is the LO I came up with from my kit from Annette. I laughed when she handed it to me cause she said "sorry Dawn it's all pink!", too funny. Yes I have two boys, so pink and me don't really meet up to much in scrappin', so it was fun to get to play with it. I so love the vintage Valentine, how cute is that?!??!None of the products are SU!, I don't know what they are, I did use SU! tools for it; Singlo White pen to make the faux stitches (with the Matt pack) and to trace the hearts on the pink paper; the Color Spritzer with Pretty in Pink Marker, Melon Mambo Ink, Chocolate Chip Marker with Matt Pack to make polka dots on the letters, and Linen Thread for the buttons.
I didn't know what picture I was going to put on it, I thought I would just take one of one of my girl cats, but then I remembered this one I took a few weeks ago of my Ethan snuggling the William's girls, Zoe and baby Pia. I played with it in Picnik a bit and just love how it looks on this LO, boys can so ROCK PINK!

Vintage Forest Friends Book Mark

Hi Everyone
Here is a cute Bookmark I whipped up today while watching 5 kids! YES, I said 5! My twins, plus another set of twins who are 2 and unbelievably CUTE and another 5 year old! I'm babysitting my friends gorgeous kiddo's cause she is packing up and moving to Manitoba. So I thought I would make her this cute bookmark to include with her going away present which is the first 3 books from the A House of Night Novels. If you haven't read these books, go out and get em'! They are fantastic! I'm really enjoying them.
Anyways you can go HERE to my other post for the directions on how to do the vintage back ground look. For this one I also used the stamp sets Forest Friends and Tiny Tags. If you click on the picture to make it bigger, you'll also see I tied the Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon together with Linen Thread and used the cute new Tiny Tag punch to make a wee little friend tag.
Thanks for stopping by, Happy Valentines Day

Vintage Style layout ala Shelli

Hi Everyone
See I have been working..honest! Here is a Layout I did 100% inspired by one Shelli showed us on stage at Leadership. I think hers was an 8x8 size, so I just changed it up to be a 12x12.
What I did was take 8.5x11 Very Vanilla card stock, stamped French Filigree Background stamp with Versa Mark and Clear Embossed it. Then I wheeled Very Vintage wheel(mini) in Chocolate Chip randomly over the whole page; twisting, skipping and crossing all over; wiped with a tissue over clear embossed image. Then I took a Dauber & Pretty in Pink ink and swirled all around where the clear embossed French Filigree image is. The flowers where punched out of Pretty in Pink, Very vanilla & Sahara sand c/s that was rolled with Very Vintage wheel first; I used the new Extra Large Fancy Flower(mini), 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches and embellished with Pretty in Pink Epoxy Brads, Kraft Corduroy button, Sweet pea Felts(mini) and Button Latte. Then I threaded a needle with Linen Thread and ran it through the center of a piece of Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon(mini) and puckered it. The DSP is Sending Love Specialty; flower strip plus behind the photo. Then I just mounted everything on Very Vanilla textured 12x12 that I stamped off with Itty Bitty Background and Close to Cocoa ink. I added a picture from Founders Circle this year that is of Lynsay (my up-line), Me, Shelli( CEO of SU!) and her daughter Sara. It still needs a title, I'll do it later as this is going to my Monthly Stamp Clubs page this month, I can't really put Founders Circle on it!
What cha' think???????

My Digital Studio: Karata LO

HI Everyone
Here is a LO I did tonight on My Digital Studio, and as we can now print INDIVIDUAL pages (not just in books) this one is going to be sent off all by itself and I will hybrid scrap it when I get it! So with this page I used the Night & Day DSP (which you can no longer buy physically any more but you still can digitally!! And one pack lasts a life time! LOL) and also Cast a Spell DSP. All circles were made with the circle punch stretched, and the scallop is the scallop square stretched. The journaling tag is from the Write Stuff II download which is a full kit of DSP, and embellishments, and is super cool!
If this is something you and your friends may be interested in, I would love to come to your house and teach you all how to do this at a My Digital Studio Workshop. Contact me for details.
The LO design is one that I saw HERE on Anam's blog, she is a wonderful scrapbooker!

Frosting a cake...with GLUE!

HI Everyone
As promised, here are the pictures of some of the projects my Groups (clubs) did this past week-end. The top card is a Frosting Technique done with Tombow Glue, white embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter & the Heat tool. It is so much fun to do and adds an unexpected texture to your card. The technique was featured in last months Stampin' Success, which is a magazine SU! demo's receive monthly. I was lucky enough to learn this technique months ago by the inventor herself at the Cloud 9 demonstrators meeting I attend monthly. The layout is from the blog Mojo Monday. So now you know some of my little secrets...I do not design everything myself! So if that is all that is stopping you from being a SU! demo, what are YOU waiting for?
Are you a stay home Mom whose maternity leave is ending soon, or how about a working Mom who pays almost as much for your childcare as you get paid, or maybe you just bought a new house and are looking for a bit of extra income to start some reno's....being an SU! demonstrator can help with that! I am a stay home Mom; my 2 boys are in kindergarten half days, I spend time with them in the mornings on "Mommy Duties", drop them off at school, and I get to spend a few hours doing Demo Duties...making cards, scrapping or prepping for a workshop. Then the bus drops the boys off and I'm on "Mommy Duty" again. No child care, just me, so my pay check is ALL ours! I work my classes and workshops around MY families schedules, not the other way around! If this sounds appealing to you, come on over to my house on Tuesday January 26 where you can learn more plus make some darn cute accessories! Check out 2 posts down for details. Or if this time is not good for you, lets meet for coffee...OR if you don't live by me, drop me a line and I'll call you to have a chat.
Back to the projects:
The Scrapbook Page is the page my girls did at my Monthly Group this month; click on it to make it larger to see all the little details on it. The hearts are all covered with Crystal Effects to make them poof off the page; the chocolate stripe is wheeled and scrapped with the Cutting kit, the DSP is from the Sweet Pea collection, the chipboard is cut out with the Heart & Brackets die from the Big Shot then textured with the new Polka Dot folder from the mini, the gorgeous stamped images are from Love Bandit(mini) which is where I stole the title from, and the letters are from the Jumble Alphabet set; they also used 2 of the awesome new punches from the mini:The Scallop Trim Border which is FREE with a $65 purchase, and the Small Heart punch.
The 3 Adorable Animal Crackers cards are for an up coming private class for Koren and her friends. They are going to be making 4 cards each of the 3 designs, plus they get to keep the Animal Cracker set! If you would like to book this class for your friends, contact me today, or if you have theme in mind, no problem, I can design a new class for YOU!
Thanks for stopping by, comments are always appreciated! :)

My Awesome crafting week: My NEW studio!!!

HI Everyone:
Here is a ton of pictures to see what I've been up to all week. Firstly, Wednesday the Olympic Torch ran through my neighbourhood, so we braced the cold and froze outside for 3hours so the kids could see it. It was great day, minus the cold, and after the torch ran by, Tristan asked me "when are we going to see the Olympic torch Mommy?"...Mmmm gee I don't know kiddo? hahah
The boys also started Karate on Monday, I'll make a LO with the pics on it soon.
Now for the crafts! This week my painfully long reno's are finally ALMOST all done! From what was promised to be a 3 week reno, it has been almost 4 MONTHS! Any hoo, here are a few pictures of my space; sorry I'm not the best photo taker. I spent all day Saturday decorating downstairs by putting up decor elements on the wall, including making the Bird Frame with elements, decorating the new Simple Adorned Chain with Charm, then I cut and prepped from my 2 Stampin' Clubs today. I'll post those pics later.
Here is the recipe for the projects:
Decor Bird Frame: ALL SU! yes all INCLUDING the frame
Decor Accent chunky Frame $27.95 ( new definitely decorative brochure download on right)
Songbird Tile, Black, small ( new definitely decore)
Direction of your Dreams, Black, small
Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon (new mini)
Staz on Ink
En Francais jumbo stamp
Simple Adorned Chain & Charm: All SU!
34" Simple Adorned Chain (new mini link on right)
1x 1 1/4" Simple Adorned Charm
Tiny Tags Stamp set (mini)
Choc chip, pretty in pink, Tempting turquoise stamp pads
Big Shot to cut letter "D"
Butterfly was a gift from SU! to all the members of the Founders Circle this year.
The Bird Cage Decor is a FREE Hostess Level 3 gift; book a workshop today and lets try to earn you one for free too! I still have to decorate my stamp room, one step at a time! But my awesome little picture shelves I bought at Ikea hold some of my punches and stamps. They are next to my work station so I just have to reach around and grab them; my paper is all in the file drawers to the right of my chair, my cupboard to my left holds tons of my tools, I LOVE it!
Anyways enough about my stamp studio; if you live in the St.Albert area, pop on over and see it your self. Space is filling up quickly for my Bling on the Accessories night, don't miss out, RSVP today!

YOUR invited to my Bling on the Accessories Opportunity Night

Hi Everyone

YOUR invited to my Bling on the Accessories Opportunity Night
Fabric accessories are totally in style right now and are everywhere, but they can be very pricey. In this class I'll teach you how to make your own gorgeous accessories to add a little bit of bling to your life! You can make a bracelet cuff, hair clip or broach...or all depending how quick you are! You will pay for only what you make, prices starting at $2/fabric square to cut through the big shot; plus $1 for the bling. For example the cuff takes 3 square, $6, 1 chunk of Ribbon with Velcro, $1, plus 3 bling, $3 so grand bargain total is $10!!! I have a selection of fabric choices for you to pick from.
I had so much fun making these and you will too, they are so simple and lets face it, totally cool too! Plus they are a fraction of the cost of ones that you buy in the store!
You may be asking your self why it's called Opportunity Night, the reason is I am going to be chatting and showing you some of the different opportunities being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has to offer. The chat will be very informal and very short.
When:Tuesday January 26 starting at 7:00-9:00
Where: My House, just out side St.Albert
Why: To make some gorgeous fashion accessories & learn about why being a demo may be right for you
Contact me today to reserve your spot for this fun girls night out and come on over and make some sweet bling!
