The Art of Collage
Saturday May 11, 2-4:30
$30 (View full project in shop only)
Instructor Dawn
10 spots 4 spots

In this wickedly fun class you are going to be learning the Art of Collage...it's not just glue to paper folks, there is a technique to this to not make it look "tacky"! You will also be making the fabulous "steam-punk girl" with Grunge board, shinny paper, and Alcohol Inks! You will get messy in this class folks...lets face it, if it's taught by me, that is a guarantee! So aprons if possible, and don't get your nails done till after! LOL!
This project is  on a 12x12 canvas board; meaning it is flat, no edge to the canvas. So technically I'm sure you could shove it in an album if you wanted too; but it looks fabulous on on an easel or just propped on a shelf.
Supply List
4x4 Sepia picture (you HAVE to bring one to class)
Scissors, MATTE Multi Medium ( I use Claudine Hellmuth) with Brush (WIDE), Crackle Accents, Distress Paints in Weathered Wood, Vintage Photo and Walnut: Distress Ink Blending Tool with Vintage Photo and Walnut ink pads: White SHARPIE (Gelly roll will not work); Background Stamps (I used fonts and circles); Cobalt Blue Archival Ink pad

Stepped picture of my Journal Page

 Hi All
I promised I'd post the finished page that I started to demo in my first youtube video.  If you have not seen the video yet; please click HERE to watch it.  I show a quick technique using Tim Holt's new Distress Paints!
After putting the base of Distress paint on, I started the background at work by using the 12x12 Grunge Poppy stencil by Prima (Donna Downey) with the bright pink Panpastels: LOVE how it turned out,  I smeared it a bit cause it was too perfect for me. Next I used a Dylusions stencil and Mustard Distress Paint. Then I got busy...and didn't touch it for a few days.  Well I meant to bring my paint box home, but I forgot it at work, but I still wanted to finish it today, so I made due with what little paints I had. I'm happy how she turned out...especially with limited colors! I made due.
Hope you like

My first demo video

Hi Everyone
Well I've been posting a lot of tags on facebook that I"ve made with the Tim Holtz Distress Paints.  Just like all his other products, I LOVE these too! They are amazing! Please feel free to pop into the shop one day and ask me how for a free demo...I LOVE any chance to play!  I also made a quick 3 min youtube video showing you how to use them in a Dylusions Art Journal. I picked a softer colour pallet then the tags I've been demoing and I was very happy how it turned out.  I'm hoping to finish the page off this weekend and post the final result under the video.
For some reason I can't post the video on here..it just won't pull it up, so here is the link to it: just click

Instructor Dawn
Limited to 10 people and this class fills up quick so don't wait
*All Skill levels welcome**
To say I am excited about this class, it a HUGE understatement! I LOVE how this journal spread turned out and I can't wait to see what YOU make with the techniques! In this class you will be learning how to use the amazing Gelatos by Faber Castell and also Water Soluble Oil Pastels! If you missed last months journal class, it's OK, you can jump in on this one, it's different techniques.  All you need is a Dylusions Art Journal!
HOMEWORK: For this months class please have your Journal prepped by applying your masking tape down the middle, gesso both side and the tape too. If you're new, just pop in and ask me how to do this.  You will also need to have a face cut out of a magazine; I used a Lady GaGa from a front cover of Bazaar. If you want the same image I found it on google and your can print it off but it won't be glossy; but ANY face will work!
Supply List: Dylusion Journal; Glue Stick or Multi Medium; Water Cup, Baby Wipes, Paper Towel, White Sharpie (Gelly Roll WON'T work); Small Paint Brush; Prima 12x12 Moroccan Grunge Stencil (must have 1 each, the technique takes about 15 min/person and is done first); Black Archival Ink and stamp blocks.  Suggestion: Bring some of your own background stamps and stencils to use so you don't have to wait for class ones.
