Fabulous Faces! NEW LARGE Bloom Girls

Hi All!
Well I was in love with the last round of Bloom Girls by Jamie over at PRIMA, so it's no surprise I'm in LOVE with the NEW Bloom Girls...AND they are even BIGGER! PERFECT for altered art, mixed media and scrapbooking! Jamie also brought out 3 of the images in 12x12 Stencils but I'll talk about those in another post.  Today is about STAMPS!
As always, quality with Prima is TOP NOTCH, and the price is PHENOMENAL! For this large of an image you'd easily expect $25+....not with Prima! At my shop, $12.75 Cnd!  Prima did bring out an amazing stamp block with handle to make it easier to stamp these huge images, and it is worth it's weight in GOLD! It's a fabulous block! (available in 2 sizes, one perfect for Bloom Images, the other Julie Nutting images)
I LOVE stamped faces, they are a blank canvas just awaiting personality! This beauty I used today is named Jing, and as soon as I saw her, I pictured her as a Hawaiian Goddess, and knew she had to go in my Hawaii album that I'm still working on. So I painted her up, and used my gorgeous Double Scoop Gelato's to add a background around her.
Next, I created my layout using Prima's Seashore papr pad and matching embellishments;  and used my Hawaiian Goddess as an embellishment. I inked all my edges with a Prima Permanent Chalk-Resist Edger.  It's so hard to see in the picture, but I added a subtle glitter texture to the back ground with Design Memory Craft's Glass Bead Glitter Gel through a Prima Stencil...it is just fabulous! If you look on the left corner of the layout you can see some of the beach wood grain glittered, and on the back of that pop of blue cardstock is a gel glittered anchor.
Hope you like it, have a wonderfully creative day!

Edicate on CASING

 Hi All
I don't normally post my finished projects of my mixed media classes, for the pure fact that they take me hours to create, and I know others have been recreating them and passing them off as their own, (tweaking a color here and there, but the main idea clearly was mine )and teaching them as their own original idea.  So I'm politely  requesting that if store owners would like to use my ideas, to contact me first to discuss terms of use.
If I case someones project, I make sure it is for personal use only, never for a class.  If I post that project, I will let you know WHO the inspiration was derived from!!!!   If I need something for a class that was taught to me by someone else, I request permission first.  I've never copied another designers ideas; and neither have my team of Designers.  I'm very very choosy who I hire to work in my shop and who I will let teach, and I can promise you, all of our classes are 100% Originals.  So if you see someone with classes that look like ours, or very similar, chances are we are the ones who were cased.  In my opinion, this is not flattering, this is stealing, and they are profiting from our hard work.
I don't mean this to sound preachy, I apologize if it does.  I am just trying to let you know WHY I don't post full samples of our classes on the web and also why I do not allow pictures to be taken in the shop of our samples.  Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that classes are being copied from us, and I'm not even sure how. But please know that if you see another store with similar classes, it was NOT US who copied.  I do NOT allow that....nor do I have time to check out other peoples stuff in the first place, LOL, I'm too busy creating my own project!

ANYHOO......THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO CASING SAMPLES WE PUT UP IN THE STORE! This does not apply to 99.9% of you either! My shop EXISTS to INSPIRE YOU!  Please feel free to case my samples, heck copy them 100% I'm am cool with that, and THAT is flattering! What I ask though is if you post it on the web, you link the original idea back to me or my designer....and we kindly ask that you do not submit your work to be published if it was cased from one of our originals.
OK if you've managed to read through this, I can't tell you what I did to create this project as I had many students pay to learn it and that would not be fair. ( I can offer you a KIT with full instructions and photo's for  $57 if you'd like to learn; orignial class is for a double journal spread with more elements that I removed on the layout: Layout has ADDED Tim Holtz not included in original class items)   What I can tell you is what I did to tweak it into a layout after the class.  I added die cuts from Tim Holtz Expedition Ephemera Pack and a black and white photo.  On the photo I used a technique that Finnabair taught us during her classes to color photo's with Primary Elements Spray mix...I took it a step further and colored in some Red Area's on my Monster High headphones with Faber-Castell Small Pit Pens.
My journaling around the edges says "Life is to short to be serious, I try to avoid that at all Cost" and I wrote that with my Fude Ball Pen.

Faber Castell meet Gorjuss Girl

Hi All!
Did you see yesterday's post with the the paper tole Gorjuss Girls? Well today, I'm still having fun with the Gorjuss Collection, but today I played with the stamps! I just ADORE "The Fox' Stamps.  She is so cute, and lets face it, anything with animal ears is even cuter! I always had my twins in hats with ears when they were babies.  Anyhooo.....I made this super cute card with Faber Castell's Aquarelle Pencils! This is the first big image I have ever done with them, and they were SO easy to use!!!!! For some like me who seems to be "coloring" challenged, I was SO please with the results!  I think one of the reasons my results turned out so well is because I used Water Color Paper.  It really makes a difference having the correct paper for the job, so don't cheap out! If you're water coloring, us WATER COLOR paper...if your using alcohol ink markers, use the appropriate paper. (I sell both at the shop)
My base of my card is from the Gorjuss Collection, the same one I blogged yesterday, and the pattern paper was from the same kit as yesterdays too.  I finished off the card with hand doodling...I love to doodle, and you can't get much simpler then the boarders I did, but it really adds a great POP to the card.  I used my Fude Ball Black pen and my white Gelly Roll.
You can purchase supplies in shop or ONLINE HERE

Gorjuss Girl Collection

 Hi All!
Well this is one line that I just can't keep in stock! Gorjuss by DOCrafts! The whole line is just spectacular, and wonderfully value priced as well! They have loads of GORGEOUS stamps and a big paper collection line that includes Card Kits, Decoupage Kits (BUT they are Paper Tole so not sure why they named them decoupage) Cards with envelopes, Scrapbook papers and embellishments too! The literally fly off the shelves.  But as summer is my quiet season, my shipment that came in Thursday still has some kits left! Sorry stamps sold out already, but more are on order!!!
The top pictures are of a layout I did with one of the paper tole I got from one of their bigger kits, "Simply Gorjuss A4 Ulimate Die-Cut and Paper Pack: (see in picture below)  that I sell for only $18. Let me tell you this kit is worth double that! It is PACKED full of fabulous paper and die cuts that are all pre-cut, including paper tole to make 16 girls! You just pop them out and create 100's of projects! The one I used is one of the paper tole die cuts! So simple, you just need to pop dots and some option ink edgers! I used Prima's White Chalk Edger! I actually took it one step further and gave her purple highlights in her hair by dipping my paint brush in my Primary Elements sprays! (Don't you just lover her metal wings? I cut a butterfly in half and turned them into fairy wings by attaching them on with heavy gel medium).  Check out the picture below to see the kit contents and another project I made in 2 minutes, a card with one of their die cut images and paper from the kit. Seriously, you could make 100's of cards or projects with this one kit alone!!!!
The pictures below show you some of the kits inside and out...you open up the packaging and it's all full of colored images for you to use!! They are so clever, not wanting the packaging to go to waste, they've decorated it for you to use! Again, more bang for your buck! I'm working on getting the rest of the kits up at the online store this week.  For the mean time if you'd like to purchase one, please email me theinkedstamper@gmail.com or call (780)458-2422.  We have lots of smaller kits in stock too that are only $6!!! Plus the gorgeous, THICK cards are only $7 for a 12 pack with 12 patterned envelopes too!!! You can see them in the picture below.
Blue kit is the A4 Die Cut kit. Brown is the Card

Card on the bottom left is one that took me literally 2 min to make, just had to cut the pattern paper! The board is a die cut from kit and same as image and little rectangle that I hand wrote happy birthday in with my Fude Ball pen.
Hope you like it and hope we see you down at the shop or on the ONLINE STORE soon! Your support is always 100% appreciate and we are beyond grateful for it!

Hi All
Faces are one of the HOTTEST trends right now in paper crafting! They are not just in Art Journals, they are on Cards and Layout too!  The great thing is, you DO NOT HAVE to DRAW to have faces on your projects! Prima has some simply GORGEOUS Stamps & Stencils designed by Jamie Dougherty, The Bloom Girl collection! These stamps and fabulous to work with, and as with all other Prima products affordable without cutting corners on quality!
If you would like to learn how to drawn your own faces, Jamie has fabulous online workshops as well! As a matter of fact, I approached Jamie and asked her for permission to host her online workshop Blooming through the Seasons in my store Studio Space! She thought the idea was so FABULOUS she opened it up for other stores around the world to do as well!!!
I purchased a large screen TV back there and the first Thursday of the each month (expect in Summer, 2nd Thursday) we meet up as a group and create together while watching one of the episodes!  You must REGISTER ONLINE with Jamie (aka NOT The Inked Stamper) I am just a student in this as well, and a hostess for the classes.  The only fee is what you will pay Jamie, ( and they are SUPER affordable)  the store part is free as you will need to bring your own supplies.   You will need to send me a message to let me know you are coming, and you must print out your receipt as proof that you purchased the class! Below is my project from the first months class....still needs more flowers on it, but hey, I'm a busy girl! LOL!

Prima's Bloom Girls Sugar Skull

 Hi All
Hope you are enjoying your Summer! I'm going to make an attempt to post on here more. I'm sure you can appreciate, being a Mom of twin boys, and running a shop is not the easiest task on the planet, and time management is my biggest struggle! I do post on FB every day, so if you can, PLEASE LIKE my FB store page, and stay in the loop of what going on.
Anyhoo...today's posting is my creation I made this morning.  Twins slept in, so I woke up to a very quiet house, I made my coffee and was just in the mood to create..so I did! I love how she turned out!   I just adore Jamie Dougherty, as person and as an artist, she is just golden! Actually off the Prima staff that I have met so far and simply, genuine and wonderful and I have nothing but high praise for them all.  If you every get a chance to take a class with a Prima Designer, be it as Prima Art Venture, or an individual class at you local store, DO IT! I went to Canadian Art Venture and was blown away with the projects, and then again by the designers themselves ( and Denny! who coordinated  the event).  And then last week, Finnabair taught in MY STORE! And let me tell you...BLOWN AWAY!  Her projects we're phenomenal, her instructions superb and her personality is the BOMB DIGITY!    OK back on point...sorry I'm a squirrel!
Today's creation was made on an old back ground I had kicking around; one of my "mop up" sheets of Dylusions! NEVER throw those out, I reach in to my goody bag of mops up to create with all the time!  So I stamped Jamie's Bloom Girl Stamp (#980023); and then I used white Gesso, Design Memory Craft Faber Castell markers and doodled away.  I changed her hair up a bit by making it longer and by removing some of the doodles.  I finished off with a Prima Flower and Wood element, along with Fab Scraps chipboard by painting black gesso and sprayed with Primary Elements Pigments homemade spray and some Silks dry brushed along the edge.
Hope you like! If you'd like to purchase any of the items, send me a message to theinkedstamper@gmail.com  I'm working getting then added to the ONLINE store!
