Take time to play everyday

Hi All! Well I've given myself a personal challenge to make something crafty everyday. Even if it's small; I need to make something homemade every day.  When you own a store...the store tends to take over, and I have to remind myself that this WAS my hobby! So, I'm going to do my best to remind myself just that..it's MY HOBBY TOO!
So here is my yesterday's crafty adventure, I decided to sketch. I always love looking at everyones art, and I find I'm so drawn to sketches of dolls/girls...which is probably why I LOVE playing with my Prima Girl stamps! But I wanted to make my OWN!  I took the online SheArt3 with Christy Tomlinson in January and leaned a lot, and gained confidence.  But then life got in the way...and I stopped.  Yesterday I hunted down my sketch book, and borrowed my son's good old HB, sharpener and eraser and just doodled.

Find HER on my Instagram Account and Follow me for daily inspiration
I sketched this one with the help of a book I sell in the shop "Mixed Media Girls" with Suzi Blu
She walks you though step by step how to draw folk art girls.  Currently out of stock but I can order one in for you, just let me know!

I think THIS style is the one I'm most attracted too! I love the big eyes! This is the best nose I've done! I so struggle with noses! Again, great tips for how to draw a good nose in the Suzi Blu book!  Super hard for me! LOL! Practice practice practice!

Till Death Do Us Part: Dylusions Layout

Hi All!
Well as you know, when I scrapbook, my favourite style is to create my own background. I always start with Ranger 12x12 Manilla sheets: for this one I used Dylusions sprays Calypso Teal, Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue for the back ground. I then used White Linen with a paint brush to paint the skull heads.  I stamped all images with Jet Black Archival Ink...MUST HAVE ink pad! I can do more spraying of ink, water, paint and color over it without it running or bleeding!  Once I stamped everything I doodled with a White Gelly Roll pen, Black,  Metallic Red and Heidi Swapp neon Pink.  I finished off with Liquitex Modeling Paste around my girl skull, once dry I used a blending tool and Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Pad.
For my skull couple, I first stamped the girl dress from Dylusions Couture line; I made a mask of the dress and laid it over the stamped image and then stamped my Man, again Couture Line.  Then I stamped the same images  on to Prima Ledger paper and cut out their clothes, glued them on. Next I stamped the Skull heads from Dylusions new set Day of the Heads! OMG LOVE this set! I used almost the whole set on this 1 layout!

FYI: I'm working on getting an ONLINE store up and running! Until now, if you need to order anything, I can do it the old fashioned way, via Facebook, email (theinkedstamper@gmail.com)  or phone (780) 458-2422.

Prima+Heartfelt Creations = LOVE

Hi All
As you know, this past Saturday, Heartfelt Creation's Emma Lou taught a beautiful class at my store. While during her class (which I took), I had this project in my head and KNEW I had to make it asap before I forgot! So I took the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia (HCPC 3557) and matching Die  Sun Kissed Fleur (HCD 734) home to play! FYI this die matches 3 other flower stamp set, and they are all 1 piece!!! Not a whole bunch of little stamps and dies to match up...1 background stamp and 1 die! LOVE THAT!

What I did
1. Stamped my Olive Prima Stamp on Prima Ledger paper and cut out: stamped her dress on Lawn Fawn Christmas paper and cut out.  Colored her with Promarkers and Tim Holtz Picket Fence Marker (her tights, hard to see in photo) I stamped her toque from Dylusions Christmas Accessories on glimmery Card stock and colored with Gelly Roll
2. Trace my back piece from my Olive stamp on to the other side of the Lawn Fawn Paper to make a large tag. (I sold my Prima Tag book to a desperate lady at the Canadian Carinval who was demoing and ran out, other wise I would of traced that)
3. I stamped my Herald Angels Background (HCPC 3427) with embossing ink and brushed on Pearl: perfect pearls
4. I stamped my Poinsettia onto red card stock and thin silver glitter card stock; die cut them out; flipped them over and petal rolled each of them (pop in to ask how). Then I layered them up and used a Black Glaze pen to put dots in center.
5. I used Prima Tin Can Fluid chalk in to edge around the girl, flowers, and tag.
6. Added some cute tags and assembled
7. I added snow details with my Snow Marker! This thing is awesome! You just put down your white liquid from the pen where you want poofy snow, and heat tool it and it poofs up!

All supplies available in the shop...snow markers are on the way now!

Thank YOU Heartfelt Creation!

Hi All!
I wanted to send out a BIG HUGE THANK YOU to HEARTFELT CREATION's Emma Lou and Rich for coming out to teach a fabulous class at my humble little store! The projects were fabulous and PACKED full of technique. Emma Lou and her wonderful husband, we're gracious and so sweet.
I've got a lot of their gorgeous stamp and exclusive dies in shop right now! I've brought some home and am playing now! I'll post pictures hopefully tomorrow! I am in LOVE with the SUN KISSED Fleur collection! It's one big die, and the stamps are one big stamp with multiple flowers/leaves. So you stamp ONCE and die cut ONCE!
This is the Die cut! ONE cut, EASY to line up with the stamps! I LOVE that it's an all season die! It cuts out the Christmas Poinsettia's!!!!

Don't "label" your supplies and 25% off SALE

25% OFF SALE ENDS TODAY for all pattern paper, colored cardstock, pads, dies and embellishment!  KELLY WILL BE IN 11-4, DON'T MISS OUT!!!! FYI I HAVE SOME GRAB BAGS IN SHOP FOR $7-10 EACH AND THE VALUE IN THE BAG IS $15-24!!!!! CLEAR BAGS SO YOU SEE WHAT YOU’RE GETTING! I'M CLEARING OUT GLIMMER MIST & LINDY'S STAMP GANG SPRAY, SOME INK PADS TOO BELOW COST!

Never be afraid to try something new and go out of your comfort zone! That's how you will grow as an artist, card maker & scrapbooker! I was playing around with painting on pictures after watching a video on youtube. This is definitely the case of the picture does it 0 justice, you can see it on my desk in the shop in person if you go in.

DON’T LABLE YOUR PRODUCTS!  The Horses are from Heartfelt Creations and I used the matching Die to cut them out.   Their stamps are much more traditional then I normally pick for myself (compared to Zombies and Dylusions) but that doesn't mean they can't be used for mixed media. And now I have a beautiful horse set to use for traditional cards as well. I know I mainly post mixed media, as that's my style, but I still do traditional too!! My point is, do not label your supplies as "mixed media" "card making" "scrapbooking" USE THEM ALL TOGETHER!!! Don’t be afraid to mix it up...if your a traditional scrapper....try a stamp, or use some PAINT, if your a card maker...try a layout...expanding your crafting will make you better on all fronts..and it’s good for your brain, your heart and your soul!
