So NOT a Traditional Christmas Card

 Hi All!
Any of you have cheeky friends that pretty Christmas cards just won't do? Well Stampotique and Dylusions make the most fabulous tongue in cheek stamps for just that purpose!  The top two pictures are cards made in my "Not So Traditional Card Class" the other night. There is a ton of techniques on these two cards, but they are easy to make. Both used the Dylusions Christmas Background and Christmas Words ( SO FUNNY) stamp sets. The Tags use the Words set, and the Christmas Boarders Set.  All the projects used Dylusions Ink Sprays to make the bases. I know its hard to see all the details, but everything is highlighted with Gelly and Glaze Pens, Liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents.
All the main images of the people are from Stampotique Daniel Torrente Line.  I LOVE these stamps. They look so forlorn and woo's me.  I regularly place orders of Stampotique stamps in the shop, if you have any requests, please let me know.  A 50% deposit will be required upon ordering.

Peek-a-boo Window Card

Hi All
Are you all done your Christmas Cards yet? If not this is a nice easy one for you to create. If you're like me, you get bored making a whole bunch of the same card.  With this design I'm not changing the layout, just the stamp. So it's stopping my "boredom" from kicking in!  It's a nice simply card to make too. I colored my inside images with my ProMarkers...(I'm proud of me, I'm getting better!)
From L-R Stamp brands: Heartfelt Creations, Inkadinkado, and Lawn Fawn (the owl is still in stock and only $4.50!)
1: Use a Circle punch and punch out a circle on your card front.
2: Close your card, and with a pencil, lightly trace around your circle on inside of your card.
3: Stamp your image in the center of your penciled circle. Color with your Alcohol Markers
4:And for the card front, I cut a pretty icy turquoise cardstock 1/4" inch small then my card base and ran it though the big shot with my Tim Holtz Snowflake Texture fade; then I used my Starlight-Silver Brilliance pigment ink pad and rubbed it over the raised snowflakes, and added a tiny pearl to the centers of the snowflakes.  Lay it on top of your base and line your punch up to punch your window out. Pop dot ontop of your base. Finish it off with some embellishments.  I painted up some Studio Calico Wood Veneer Snowflakes with Silver Adirondack, and used some American Crafts Ribbon to finish the cards off.

FYI: Pop into the shop to get some FABULOUS Deals! Spend $35 and receive a FREE COPY of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine! PLUS The COUPON DEAL is still on! Purchase $50 of regular priced products and receive a $20 OFF Coupon!!!!!

One of a Kind Class for a One of a Kind Kid!

Hi All
Friday I had the pleasure of teaching a custom booking; Tegan's Birthday party! Tegan is an awesome, crafty girl who has her own sense of style! She requested a Mixed Media Class....which I was MORE then happy to design!  Each girl went home with a custom made Mixed Media book, 3 Claudine Hellmuth paints and a paint brush.  In the class I taught them how to mix CH paints to make different colors, and how not to be afraid to play and experiment with anything in THEIR book! They went home with 2 pages done in the books, and lots more to decorate and make it their own! They played with Dylusions stamps, Gelly Roll pens and Stencils. Every girls' page was unique and amazing and I was soo lucky to teach such a great group of kids!
If you would like me to design a class for your child's next birthday party, please call the shop (780)458-2422 during store hours and ask for Dawn,  or email me at, or FB me on the store page HERE.  Prices will vary depending on the project and number of kids.

Some Glitz Retro Fun

Hi All
I've been posting a lot of Christmas Samples lately, so I thought it would be fun to shake it up a bit with a Retro Layout.  I made this yesterday with the awesome new Glitz Line "Cashmere Dame". I LOVE this line! It's east work with, this layout practically put itself together!  The record and the TV frame and transparencies, they call them Peek a boo's! How fun is that...what I liked is that they were not 100% see through so the pop dots behind them we're not visible, I hated that about the old transparent embellishments, they were impossible to adhere.
I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and Red, Green, White and Black GLAZE pens to highlight everything. MAN those PENS ROCK! They dry like enamel and add such a fabulous POP to your page!  All the cherries and white polka dots are raised with these pens, they look fabulous!!! For such a small effort, it's well worth it!  I finished it off my white highlighting the pin up girl with a Gelly Roll pen and Glossy Accenting her swim suit.  (should of taken a close up of that, sorry)
I have the whole line in stock at the shop....the chevron patters would be great on Christmas projects as well.  The Red is bright and cherry!!!
Click HERE to view the whole Glitz Cashmere Dame Line and pop by the shop to buy it and check the layout out in person..always looks better then the photo.

Christmas Countdown with Melissa Francis

 Hi All
I had a lot of fun playing with Melissa Francis's  Countdown to Christmas! I used the paper, Chipboard and Die Cuts from this line. They are SO cute, mega retro and just fabulous. I added some Fabscraps Chipboard pieces that I spritzed with Tinsel and Bronze Heidi Swapp Color Shine...LOVE this stuff! There are lots of little details all over the whole layout; Crackle  and Glossy Accents, Black and White Enamel, Washi Tape,  Tim Holtz Inks, Dies with Grunge Board and Metal Embellishments. And all that awesome snow was done with a SNOW PEN! Totally adds to the layout! Puffs right up with a heat tool. I also love the frame around Tristan's picture cut from Gold Metallic paper and a Spellbinder die.

Hi Everyone
Well I don't just always do messy things, I can do cute too!  I LOVE how this tag turned out and it was so simple with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I'm a self confessed bad colorer and I totally think I pulled it off with these markers!  I love it so much, I'm thinking of putting a Tag Class together with the Markers and House Mouse Stamps.  Are they not the CUTEST??

Be Yourself..another Journal Page

Hi Everyone
Here's another journal page from my Dylusions Journal. This one is still a work in progress...there are a few details I'm going to add when I get around to it, but for now I think it's post worthy.  There is a lot of paints and sprays on these pages to make the colors of this background. It started off with Dylusions Bubble Gum Pink and Black Marble Sprays; then I added some Adirondack Raspberry Paint and Claudine Hellmuth black to the mix with my finger.  Then I added my favourite Crafter's Workshop Flame stencil with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Sweet Cherry... I LOVE how the mica in this awesome spray completed shined on top of the black paint!!
I used Tim Holtz, Dylusions and Lablanche Stamps on this page, and of course highlighted with Gelly Roll pens. I also used Ranger Enamel Accents on the pages as well; I added black eyes to the spiders and pup, plus the white swirls the the pup and skulls are in were made with the White Enamel I swirled on with my finger.
My favourite detail on the whole spread is the glasses! They are from the October Afternoon Midway Chipboard Bundle; I painted them with the Raspberry Paint and a Rhinestone.  I finished it off by finger painting with Thickers and running down some black india ink.

She who has the most minions....wins

Hi Everyone

Every chance I get lately, which doesn't feel like many, I play in my new Dylusions Art Journal. I do love this book, it's huge and the paper in it is awesome! This was my first play session in it; kinda wish I made the words bigger..but oh well! It's hard to pick up the textures and layers with the camera; the back ground is made with gesso, Claudine Hellmuth Teal Paint, Blank Canvas; the pattern is a Crafter's Workshop stencil with black paint, and the pink is Pan Pastel. The whole page has scrapings of Modeling Paste. Images are all Stampotique Stamps with Archival Jet Black ink and colored with Gelly Roll and Heidi Swapp pens.  The "minions" on the right are colored with Muti-Medi and Liquid Pearl mixture and on the right (camera did not pick up); Tattered Angels Glaze.
