Hi All! Toady is World Down Syndrome Day; my Dad used to teach Down Syndrome adults easy carpentry and help them work by assembling kits, products to sell; now it's my turn to do something. So for TODAY I AM GOING TO DONATE 20% OF ALL PRODUCT SALES TO THE ST ALBERT DOWN SYNDROME SUPPORT GROUP. Please come out today, I know the weather is rotten, to support this great cause! And don't forget to wear your MISMATCHED socks!!! Please share this message on your FB pages to spread the word of World Down Syndrome Day.
Are you wearing a pair of colourful or mismatched socks today? The organizers of this year's World Down Syndrome Day are hoping you will.
According the World Down Syndrome Day website (http://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/), organizers are raising awareness of down syndrome by encouraging everyone across the globe to "Wear Lots of Socks" (brightly coloured socks, mismatched socks, long socks, printed socks, 1 sock…maybe even 3 socks (or EXTRA socks) for 3 chromosomes)...
Socks or not, today is World Down Syndrome Day and this date was chose to represent the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. March 21, 2013 marks the 8th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.
Please help in the cause and raise your voice to ensure that the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with down syndrome are met today and in the future.
